Welcome to the PMDD-Community!

PMDD Community is the FIRST online community dedicated solely to woman who suffer from PMDD.  We are a new community, opening our virtual doors to the public on March 1st 2009.

What Can You Do Here?

There are two primary functions of our online community.

  1. Educate Yourself! Read about PMDD, how it is diagnosed, how it is treated, browse our list of resources.
  2. Join our Online Community! Our members have the ability to create and customize an online profile, upload and share pictures, create groups of like-minded individuals, make friends and add them to a friend list, and participate in our Message Board discussions! ALL FOR FREE!
The PMDD Community was created to give women suffering from PMDD a place where they can share their feelings with other women who understand. We encourage women to register with PMDD Community and participate in the discussion.

More than typical PMS

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a collection of physical, psychological, and emotional symptoms related to a woman's menstrual cycle. About 80% of woman who are old enough to to bear children suffer from some symptoms of PMS.

For some women with PMS, the symptoms are so severe that they are considered disabling. This form of PMS has its own psychiatric designation: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). It is estimated that 3-8% of menstruating women suffer from PMDD.

Symptoms of PMDD surface between ovulation and menstruation, and disappear within a few days after the onset of the womans period. Many of these symptoms can be disabling.

PMDD-Community was created with the sole purpose of providing education and support to those who suffer from Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) as well as support for people who care about someone who suffers from this disorder.
